Pacific Northwest Metal Arts has combined heat-colored metal and taxidermy to create “steelidermy”. Using your photo and measurements as a pattern, the animal is hand cut from 1/8th inch steel plate. A hand-held grinder and torch are then used to detail and color the steelidermy to as close a replica as possible providing a low-maintenance (simply dust with a soft cloth) piece of art extending only inches from the wall. This allows for beautiful profile elk, moose, deep-sea fish or salmon taxidermy in any room. Each piece is given a unique background and finished off with an engraved plaque documenting the species, date and location of the catch or kill.
